BMW 3 Series Engine Specs

BMW 3 Series: Performance

The BMW 3 Series 330i and 330i xDrive come standard with a 2.0L BMW TwinPower Turbo 4-cylinder engine that boasts up to 255 horsepower. The 8-speed sport automatic transmission allows you to switch between Sport and Manual shift modes, depending on your preference.

Offering the same 8-speed transmission as above, the next trim in the series allows for a glimpse at what a hybrid is capable of. The M340i and M340i xDrive come with a 3.0L 6-cylinder engine that produces 382 horsepower, thanks to the eBoost 48V mild hybrid technology.

The M3 offers the most power of any BMW X3 model. Utilizing the same 3.0L BMW M TwinPower Turbo engine, the M3 sees an astonishing output of up to 503 horsepower.

The BMW 3 Series also offers two electric trims: the 330e and 330e xDrive. These combine the 2.0L turbo engine from the 330i with that of an electric motor, giving you 288 horsepower and the continued use of an 8-speed automatic transmission.
