BMW X7 MPG

When you’re shopping for a new vehicle around Meridian, Philadelphia, and Laurel, Mississippi, fuel efficiency is an important consideration. The BMW X7 is a luxury SUV that combines power and fuel efficiency for drivers who want the best of both worlds. To give drivers an idea of the fuel economy of the 2021 BMW X7, BMW of Meridian has put together this review.

BMW X7 Fuel Efficiency and Power

The BMW X7 has three trims and three engine options, depending on which trim you choose. The first engine is a 3.0L 6-cylinder BMW TwinPower Turbo engine with 335 horsepower and 331 lb-ft of torque. It gets an EPA-estimated 19 city/24 highway MPG. The second engine is standard with the M50i trim. It is a 4.4L BMW M TwinPower Turbo V8 engine with an output of 523 horsepower and 553 lb-ft of torque. This powerful engine has an EPA-estimated 15 city/21 highway MPG. The final engine option is the most powerful of the three engines the X7 offers. The 4.4L BMW ALPINA Bi-Turbo V8 engine tops out at a whopping 612 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque. Despite the extra engine power, this engine has the same fuel efficiency as the M50i trim with an EPA-estimated 15 city/21 highway MPG.

BMW X7 Drivetrain

The BMW X7 comes standard with xDrive. This is BMW’s all-wheel drive system. It uses sensors to determine if there is any slip in the wheel to relay power to the slipping wheel automatically. This provides additional traction and control. The X7’s transmission offers a smooth ride. It is an 8-speed Automatic transmission with Sport and Manual shift modes and steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters and Launch Control. This transmission provides more control when you need it or when you want it with the manual shift. If you want to let the vehicle shift gears automatically, you can do that too.

How To Improve Your Fuel Economy

While your vehicle has a standard fuel economy, there are things you can do to drive more efficiently. These tips might help save you time and a bit of money by staying on the road and spending less time at the pump. The first tip is to make sure you keep up to date on your BMW’s maintenance. The better you care for your vehicle, the better its fuel efficiency and the better your other systems will work. Another tip is to avoid excessive idling. Your engine will continue to use gas while you sit with your vehicle on. If you are waiting for someone or waiting in your vehicle, turn off the engine. Some other tips are: Use cruise control on the highway. Follow the speed limit. Remove extra weight from your vehicle. Avoid leaving your external cargo container on your roof.
